Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to data when you use Phrasicle.com, a daily word chain puzzle game.

Phrasicle has no accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, we do not ask for your email, and we do not hold a user database. Your game history is stored in your own browser and never sent to us.

1. What we collect

Game progress, on your device only. Your puzzle results, clue usage, stars, streaks and settings are saved in your browser's local storage. They stay on that device. We cannot read them, and clearing your browser data deletes them.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from.
Advertising. Our advertising partners may set cookies and device identifiers to serve and measure ads.

2. What we do not collect

No names, email addresses or passwords, because there are no accounts.
No payment information. Phrasicle is free.
No server-side record of your puzzle history.

3. Backup codes

The tracker can produce a backup code so you can move your history to another device. That code is generated in your browser and is only ever shared if you choose to share it. It is not sent to us.

4. Advertising and tracking

This site is affiliated with Monumetric (dba for The Blogger Network, LLC) for the purposes of placing advertising, and Monumetric will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. We also serve advertising through Google AdSense. To learn more, or to opt out:

6. Your choices

You can erase everything Phrasicle has stored at any time using the Erase my data button on the tracker, or by clearing site data in your browser. For anything else, email phrasicle@gmail.com.

7. Children's privacy

Phrasicle is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

We may update this policy and will post changes here with a revised effective date.
